Ohmigod yes. I work in a bookstore and saw this the other day and froze in my tracks. It looks as if whoever designed fell asleep in the middle of the project, woke up suddenly at deadline, scooped up whatever was lying on his desk and said “Here’s your cover.”
Gulp. While I’m not a fan of this cover, I am terrified that somehow one of my covers will end up on this blog! We all have bad days, creatively. And we’ve all had brilliant cover designs utltimately butchered by clients or authors who “have a background in art”. Who knows, the first comp of this cover could have been stunning! :)
