Shameless plug for ... us!
I managed to keep a promise to myself tonight — it’s still the night of the 15th as far as I’m concerned — and update the gallery on the ospreydesign site. I actually started a few days ago, but then decided to fiddle with the look of the site itself, improving navigation especially, and it wound up taking a little longer. You know how it goes.

We’re excited to show our first catalog. Although a ton of work, we’re very satisfied with the results — remarkable given the size (48 pages, tons of details, all from scratch) and the timeframe (two weeks, basically). It’s our work from top to bottom, logo to layout, and was the source of the Lexicon, er, Lexon post a few days ago.
Which addresses another reason for the update to the main site: we’re publicly offering more services here at ospreydesign. Book design first, absolutely — but if you’re a publisher and you need a logo, ad, catalog, or whatever to support that book or the publishing business as a whole, we might be able to help. We’ve always done it, just not advertised it, and thought that should change.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a logo. Too long, in fact; they used to be my favorite part of design in my days before specializing in books. When Catholic Heritage Curricula hired me first to design a book, then asked if I was interested in designing a logo for a new imprint for that book and more to come, I jumped at the opportunity. Which led to the (very different) CHC logo, part of a larger identity system for them culminating in the catalog. Can’t wait to do more — it’s literally fun.
Not tomorrow, though. Nose back to the grindstone — five different projects for three different publishers all due in the next week. And there’s a queue. The spring rush is on.…

Comments:
The catalog is simply beautiful.
Nice work, guys. I need to update my site some time soon. Look out for the spelling error in “The Self Psychology of Addi-c-tion…”
D’oh! That’s only been up there, staring me in the face, since January.
Thank you, Dan, for pointing out.
