Amanda's Netflix Picks

Bunny_Lake_Is_Missing-resized200.jpg

I’m recommending two wonderful and yet underappreciated British films and am seeking Netflix recommendations from our Foreword readers.

1. Noel Coward’s Brief Encounter. This is a three hanky movie that could never be made today. Excellent, excellent film.

2. Bunny Lake is Missing. This is finally out on DVD. I caught just five minutes of the movie when Giles and I were dating and never forgot it. The movie’s titles are by designer Saul Bass.

What’s in your Netflix queue? What can you recommend that you’ve seen recently?

Okay, I’ll answer…;)

Seriously, it’s slightly shocking how small the percentage of readers are commenters. For those of you that discuss, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

My Netflix queue is mostly television programs. Isn’t that interesting — give up television so you can rent the programs from Netflix. It says something about the advertising, perhaps…;)

Seriously, I guess that for my hour or two a week, it seems like these days, I’d rather give Netflix $18/month instead of the cable company $50!

True, Netflix is a better deal, except when Pootie Tang goes into heavy rotation on HBO.
