Victorian Book Design

From an E-mail:

I just thought you or your readers might be interested in a book auction which includes 100 lots from the late Nigel Temple. The condition is amazingly good throughout and there are some real rarities for book design cognoscenti—many of the books look like they have just come out of a new bookshop. Anyway, the illustrated catalogue will be online for free viewing by tomorrow morning. All other sale room info including a map is up there too.

For anyone who is excited by the name Ruari Maclean (Nigel was a friend and ‘rival’ collector) and his interest in Victorian book bindings and design this is a rare must-see “exhibition”. The books will be on view next Tuesday 20th (10-7) and from 9am on sale morning (Wednesday 21st). The first lot (460) will probably come under the hammer at about 2.45-3.00pm.

It would be terrific just to see some of these lovely books!
