Big money in books

According to The Times (it’s a good thing I read it or I would have even less blog fodder than I already do) Christopher Little, J.K. Rowling’s literary agent, made himself number 37 on the Sunday Times Pay list by taking a 15% cut from his author, instead of the customary 10%. Apparently he would’ve lost £6.25 million if he had gone with the 10% figure. That’s shocking money.

That’s really incredible. How does one even become a literary agent?

Good luck and good timing, maybe?

Yes, I think that’s exactly what it comes down to.
