Anyone want to mention their favorite Wilson cover? I’m still in love with Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress.

Comments:
Aw, Balzac has always been a favorite of mine too! Then again, I am a complete sucker for smaller hardbacks. I’m not sure why (since they ARE harder for me to read) but they’re my favorite.
Vote for Balzac seconded here — the other is nice but nothing in comparison.
Small hardbacks!
Like Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto.
Anything by Wilson is gold!
How wonderful to discover this site! I was wondering how I would find a way to tell how impressed I am by Gabriele’s cover design for Balzac and the little Chinese seamstress.
So much so, in fact, that although I have read (and loved) the book in my native tongue (French), I could not resist buying it again for that splendid cover.
It now sits on my mantle, as the work of art it truly is.

This cover is very beautiful (wunderschön!) which is indeed a compliment I never made before. I just wonder, why the person (definitely a girl) took off her shoes. Did she dance barefoot for instance or did she leave the shoes after having a dance? As a barefooted girl probably leafs no traces the picture of the shoes would be the only hint to her left as in an old fairy tale…
Our bookclub has just finished David Guterson’s book “Our Lady of the Forest”. We were facinated with Gabriele Wilson’s cover depicting a close up of the Virgin Mary’s face. We were all curious as to what statue this closeup was composed from. Anyone have any info?
How would I get in contact with gabriele wilson. For work.
Appreciate any help.
